****VERY IMPORTANT! DO NOT leave valuables in your car! It's a common occurrence to have break-ins at trailheads, and it's recently happened to our members! So please, please, please- do not leave any valuables in your car! If you have a purse or wallet, leave it at home. Tuck your license etc in your pack. Hikers often put their valuables into the trunk, and this is not a deterrent! Thieves often sit in their car and watch to see who is putting their valuables where, so please play it safe and leave all that at home.
Who We Are The mission of the PNW Leisure Hiking Meetup Group is to provide its members with opportunities to explore our beautiful Pacific Northwest while getting into better shape through short, easy hikes. We come from diverse backgrounds and various experience levels, but have one thing in common: we want to hike. And most of all? We have fun!
Who Should Join You must have an interest in hiking; that is the only qualification for membership. Membership in PNW Leisure Hiking is open to everyone. We have a great group, and many wonderful and friendly members. Your life will benefit from your membership, and so will ours! Please consider joining us. Every person willing to have a good attitude is welcome.
And Who Shouldn’t While everybody is welcome, this group may not be for everybody. If you don't like laughing, learning, socializing and pushing yourself then this group might not be for you. PNW Leisure Hiking does not tolerate or condone harassment in any form including racial intolerance, unwelcome advances, verbal abuse, sexual harassment, etc. We do not support or represent any political causes or religious causes. Please notify the Organizer if you feel that you are being harassed so that appropriate steps may be taken. PNW Leisure Hiking is NOT a singles club. If you are looking for a date, we strongly recommend you look elsewhere.
What We Do PNW Leisure Hiking Members go on shorter, easier hikes and strive to get into better shape. They also support each other and share their experiences with each other.
Where We Meet Events and trips can take place anywhere in the Puget Sound region- and sometimes even further away.
When We Meet Again, that varies on quite a few factors: the weather, the season, and peoples’ schedules.
Why Join Meetup Joining a Meetup Group is not only a great way for people to get more involved with other people, but it’s also a great way of getting and sharing support. As a Meetup member, you’ll benefit from the experience and support of a group, not to mention the motivation! Meetup has proven to be a fantastic way to meet new people who share similar interests, and this Meetup Group is no exception.
